Simerics-MP and Simerics-MP+Version 5.1 provide new capabilities compared to the previous release such as Shell and Pipe template meshers. Simerics-MP+ Version 5.1 has added four new templates: GT Interface template, Ball 3D Valve template, Helical Gear template and Data Exchange sub- module. A brief summary of the new features and enhancements are listed below:
This release has the following new templates:
GT Interface Template for seamless integration with GT-Suite, an 1D simulation tool.
Ball 3D Valve Template for simulation of 3D movement of ball valve using a totally new mesh algorithm.
Helical Gear Template for simulation of a pair of helical gears.
Data Exchange sub-module: This new sub-module handles data exchange with other simulation cases or third party software. It is currently available only for the Heat module with mixed time scale heat transfer simulation e.g. Piston cooling.
The new enhancements in the existing templates are:
A figure "8" shaped structured mesh is added to template mesher. The main application is the side gaps of rotating machinery with two rotors such as twin screw compressors.
Added support CTRIAR & CQUADR elements in Nastran mesh reader.
Allows more mesh layers in gaps in rotor template mesher for PD machines
Improvement in radiation ray tracing with moving mesh.
Added anisotropic heat conductivity.
Major bug fixes:
Fixed VOF restart issue
Fixed wrong pressure display on MGI conjugate wall
Fixed updating issue of temperature on MGI interfaces
Fixed boundary condition update issue when adding new domain
Fixed inconsistent interface reorientation
Fixed RC values for MPI
Fixed inconsistency in volumetric flux output
Fixed cycle average restart issue
Avoid core dump for pure Heat without Flowwhen higher order scheme is chosen
Fixed convergence issue for 1D resistance model
Fixed random direction generator in radiation for Linux
Fixed circumferential valve direction check issue
Fixed animation and restart issues for monitor points
Users can create multiple animations together in a single session
